Dead soldier’s friend tells why a funeral dress was the only way to honour him. The Observer.
“Kev was like my brother – we would have done anything for each other.
We said that whoever died first, the other one had to wear a pink dress with green spots to the funeral – and we shook on it. It was mainly his idea and the more I think about it, I’m sure Kevin knew something was going to happen.
I looked for the exact dress but couldn’t find one anywhere.
I eventually picked up the green one in Primark and bought the pink pop socks to make it look even sillier. It’s what Kev would have wanted.
Kev told his whole family about the pact, so I couldn’t back out. I had a word with him at the graveside and asked if he liked the color – I’m sure I could hear laughter coming out of the ground.
Kev was a true hero and someone I’m proud to call my best mate.”Respect.
;A;
this is the manliest thing i’ve ever seen.

Tonight I thought about the past few years. In a blink of an eye, it’s about 5 years since I left secondary school.
There are so many things I find stupid now. The people I hurt selfishly/ accidentally, all the drama and pain I could have avoided.
How do things of the past still have a way of creeping into your thoughts? No matter how long ago it was.
Texted 2 of the people who stuck by me through it all tonight in appreciation. One of them told me that it’s how we grow up and grow stronger.
I guess it’s true. If I could turn back time, I would have undid the wrongs I did. But if I did undo them, I wouldn’t be the me who has learnt so much since then today.

Optical Illusion of the Day: To promote the “psychologically and physically thrilling” Nemesis Sub-Terra ride set to open next month at Alton Towers Resort, artist Andrew Walker was commissioned to design an equally psychologically and physically thrilling 3D illusion for an elevator at the Southside Shopping Centre in the south London district of Wandsworth.
“When creating the illusion inside the lift we considered some our most common fears including heights, darkness and claustrophobia that are also a core part of the new attraction,” said Alton Towers spokeswoman Katherine Duckworth. “The reactions of the public were fascinating and we can’t wait to see what happens when people come and experience the new attraction for the first time.”
[mmm.]
Something I may do also. Lol!

I’ve been seeing this first picture going around on facebook and it’s driving me UP A WALL.
This, folks, is what we call BODY SHAMING. The minute you start putting down one body type in favor of another, you are NOT HELPING THINGS. In today’s society, when EVERYONE is being told constantly (400+ times a day, and that’s a proven fact) that they’re not good enough or they need to change something to be ‘hot’ or ‘sexy’, you cannot possibly blame people for wanting to change their bodies. You have no way of judging why ANY of those women look the way they do. Some people naturally have bodies that are that thin. And yes, some people starve themselves to look like that. But shaming someone for what is quite literally a disease is the lowest of the low. Regardless, no body type is any more or less ‘hot’ than ANY other body type. ALL bodies are good bodies, ALL of us are fighting a hard battle. Don’t think for one moment that you have the right to judge anyone. You wouldn’t like it if the scrutiny was on you.
Love,
agreed.
side note: just because i’m personally more attracted to one body type more so than another, doesn’t make the other body types wrong.
